Jared and Reneé

Jared was promoted at work in September from Deputy Program Manager to Program Manager on the SSST contract the company has with Orbital. Google “GQM-163A” for more information. He’d been mountain biking twice a week with friends from work, but now with the time change, it may only be once a week. He’d like to ride a night, but none of the other guys seem very interested in doing that…chickens!

I returned from maternity leave to my previous job with Sunlight Communications on November 17th. I continue to work from home and have negotiated that I can keep Lily home with me until she is 6 months old. If she is doing well and I’m getting my work done, I’ll try and negotiate a longer at home period for her. Otherwise, she’ll go to the same daycare Emma attends. The first week was pretty good and I think this arrangement is going to work out nicely.

We’ve begun redecorating two rooms in our house. We have repainted the larger of the two spare rooms (12 X 12 ½) a light tan on top, darker tan on the bottom, white chair rail in between. The girls will share this room. We have found two bunk bedroom sets we like and are trying to determine which one to purchase. We’ll also be putting in a closet organizer to make better use of that space for the girls. We have moved Emma into the new room and got everything set up for the two of them. Lily will continue to sleep with us until she’s 1 year old, just like we did with Emma. I do put her down for naps in her crib to get her used to napping on her own. We’ll then begin to repaint the front room that Emma was in to make it the office/guest room. It will be two-tone (haven’t 100% decided on the colors) with a chair rail and closet organizer as well. Since I work from home, I need the separate space for my office equipment as well as our personal computer items and we also need a room for our guests to sleep in. The close organizers will be the last things we do since it will take some time designing before we purchase. We’re going with the wire-shelved kind for cost and resell purposes.

That about wraps it up for this journal entry on our family and all the goings on in our lives. Take care!
