Lily has become agitated with being in her car seat, not all the time, but often enough that I dread going out. Some days, she’s totally fine and doesn’t get upset. Other days, she gets so hysterical with crying that she spits up, sweats and is beet read. I can get so stressed out by her stress that it’s all I can do not to cry myself some days. Thankfully, she calms down pretty quickly once we get where we are going, but its soooo not fun getting there. Her behavior doesn’t even faze Emma, thankfully, and she can sleep through it. I know she’ll grow out of it like Emma did, but for now, it can be tough on us both (smiles).

We spend some time playing each day. I will prop her up on my legs and we just “talk” and I try to get her to giggle. Getting her to smile is very easy, but you have to work a little for the giggle at this point, but the giggles are coming more and more frequent. Sometimes on her own without any prompting. Almost every time she giggles, it gives her the hiccups! Lily also enjoys lying on her play mat with the toys dangling above her and she takes swings at them. She hasn’t grabbed them yet, but she is getting close. Lily also likes it when I read or sing to her and/or Emma. She does “talk” quiet a bit (big surprise, she is my kid after all). She really responds to “mama,” “I love you, Lily,” “oh, yeah,” and “hello.”
